Steven A. Rieger

reiger1.jpg - 16925 Bytes Steve Rieger was appointed to Alaska Permanent Fund Board on June 15, 2009 by Governor Sarah Palin replacing Mr. Carl Brady. He was born in Pullman, Washington May 14, 1952 and moved to Palmer, Alaska in 1955 where he grew up. He attended Massachusetts Institute of Technology 1970-71 and transferred to Harvard University 1971-74 where he graduated with a B.S. in Economics. ?He then earned M.B.A. from Harvard in 1976. After working in Seattle for Crowley Maritime Corporation from 1976-79, he joined Seattle-Northwest Securities Corporation and was transferred to Alaska with the firm in 1980. Mr. Rieger then became Alaska legislative staffer and was elected to Alaska House of Representatives in 1985. He represented South Anchorage for three terms and served one term in Alaska Senate through 1996. A member of both House and Senate finance committees, his legislative experience included Alaska operating and capital budgets, economics, banking, and the Permanent Fund.

Mr. Rieger currently operates his own management and finance consulting business in Anchorage and is a state-registered investment adviser.
